OUR PROCESS
Intake
If you have logged in to my secure client portal to schedule your session, please choose the 30-minute complimentary consultation. You may be directed to call the office, which means I am currently accepting wait list clients only. If you select a consult time, I must approve the requested appointment, then you will be sent the intake paperwork, including the credit card form. Once you receive confirmation, please complete all intake paperwork at least 24 hours prior to your consultation.
If you called the office, the intake paperwork will be emailed to the email address you provided over the phone. Your paperwork must be completed 24 hours prior to your consultation session or the session will need to be rescheduled.
You will receive a reminder email 48-hours prior to your initial consultation.
Initial consultation
Your initial consultation is an opportunity to meet Jennifer and discuss what brought you in for therapy. It is a chance for you to get a feel for whether I am a good fit for your needs. Decades of research show that lasting change is the result of three essential ingredients: a warm, trusting relationship where you feel understood, a safe space where you can share your thoughts and feelings, and the opportunity to gain insight into your experience. By the end of the consultation, we will talk about our fit for therapy and hopefully schedule an appointment to start the assessment process.
Assessment
During the first 1-2 sessions I will take you through an assessment: I take time to delve more deeply into what brought you into therapy, how your experiences have shaped who you are, and what changes you want to create in your life.
Getting to know you helps ensure that you and I are on the same page and ready to collaborate on your goals. You and I will work closely to create a set of specific goals for your therapeutic journey, as well as plan for how to achieve those goals.
Therapy
Once you have completed the assessment phase, you will then meet with me regularly to work on the goals you have set. Therapy is the pathway to change that helps you feel better and engage more fully in life.
